Updated - Christchurch mail delays (inbound and outbound)

Mail delivery and postal services have now recommenced to the majority of Christchurch regions, following the earthquake which took place on Saturday 4 September.

Only a small number of CBD businesses and streets are not currently accessible and are therefore unable to receive delivery at this time. The impact is expected to be minimal as businesses are not currently operating in these locations.

Any backlog of mail and courier items will be cleared in the coming days.

Christchurch airport has been operational since Sunday 5 September, following its temporary closure on 4 September. Mail departing Christchurch for Australia is no longer experiencing delays.
