This Earth Hour, go beyond the hour
Monday, 14 March 2011

At 8.30pm on Saturday 26 March 2011 millions of people and organisations in cities across the world will switch off their lights for one hour to mark Earth Hour.
Earth Hour provides an opportunity for us to:
- make a united commitment to take action against climate change
- join together to take a stand for the planet
- take the time to think beyond the hour and consider ways to reduce our impact on the planet.
Australia Post is proud to have participated in this WWF-initiative since it started in 2007 in Sydney. That year, in Sydney alone, over 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses switched off their lights to take a stand against climate change.
Since then, Earth Hour has gained a following of hundreds of millions and has grown into the largest environmental campaign in history. Last year 128 countries and territories took part in what has become a truly global movement.
