2010 Toyota AFL Grand Final Replay, Collingwood "fly" into Australia Post history

To celebrate Collingwood's triumphant win over St Kilda in Saturday's highly anticipated replay of the Toyota AFL Grand Final, Australia Post is releasing an historic 2010 Toyota AFL Premiership Souvenir Stamp Sheet featuring the victorious team.

From Wednesday 6 October 2010, AFL fans and collectors will have the opportunity to purchase their own piece of premiership history at participating Australia Post retail outlets around the country.

After a thrilling draw at the MCG on 25 September, Collingwood's defeat of St Kilda at Saturday's Grand Final Replay marks their fifteenth AFL premiership win, having previously won in 1902, 1903, 1910, 1917, 1919, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930, 1935, 1936, 1953, 1958 and 1990. AFL fans across the country rejoiced as Collingwood emerged victorious after a hard fought win, placing the club just one premiership title shy of matching the all time record held by both Carlton and Essendon, having won 16 times each.

Australia Post Philatelic Manager, Michael Zsolt said "The AFL Grand Final is one of Australia's greatest annual sporting events enjoyed by millions of fans around the country. The historic draw on 25 September made Saturday's replay even more highly anticipated and enjoyable when a winner was finally decided. Collingwood fans will understandably be elated with Saturday's win, which marks the club's fifteenth AFL Premiership title. We hope the AFL Grand Final Souvenir Stamp Sheet serves as a constant reminder of this historic occasion and the team's remarkable achievement."

The Souvenir Stamp Sheet will feature exciting celebratory post-match images of the 2010 Collingwood team, along with team logo, final score, AFL logo and the title of "AFL Premiers 2010".

The tabs of the stamps will display an image of the 2010 AFL premiership cup and each Souvenir Stamp Sheet will feature 10 x 60 cent stamps. Sporting enthusiasts and collectors can buy a souvenir sheet for $15.95 from 6 October 2010 while stocks last:
